Haypress Cemetery, 15 High Street, Whitehouse Station, Readington Twp.

 

The Haypress cemetery so-called because of the adjacent 19th century site that pressed hay for local farmers was established as a burying ground for the Rockaway Dutch Reformed Church early in the 18th century. The earliest burial is Capt. Cornelius VanHorne in 1744. Other families buried here include Voorhees, Wyckoff, and Covenhoven. The Mount Amwell Project maintains the site under a written agreement with Readington Township made 9 March, 2016. The grass cut by Whole 9 Yards of Sergeantsville.
