This cemetery was quit-claim deeded to Kingwood Township by the American Baptist Church of New Jersey in April 2015 with assistance from the Mount Amwell Project. A Memorandum of Understanding to maintain the site was signed between Kingwood and the MTAP in September of 2015. The cemetery was established the Kingwood Church in 1832, at Locktown agreed to buy an acre of land from John Sebold for forty dollars for a burial ground. The Kingwood Baptist Church was founded in 1742 by members of the Hopewell Baptist Church at what is now Baptistown. Families include Bray, Rittenhouse, & Pegg. The MTAP site Steward is Trevor Oldenburg.
